Living a good life

Living a good life needn’t be complex, difficult or expensive.  In fact, the simpler, plainer and cheaper it is, the better!

Here are 4 simple truths about living a good life.

1. My version of a good life need not resemble yours, or anybody else’s.  I get to choose what a good life means to me.  And you get to choose what a good life means to you.

2. The less you look around and compare yourself to others – what they’re doing, what they have, what they’re achieving, who they’re with – the better you’re likely to feel about your own life.  The comparison game is always lose-lose.

Plus we’re so often guessing, imagining and basing what we see on assumptions which may be dead wrong.  You never know what someone else’s life is really like, so the less you have one eye on them, and the more you are focused on your own journey, the happier you’re likely to be.

3. You can change what your definition of what a good life is at any time.  It needn’t be carved in stone.

4. We have one go around on this earth.  Make your turn a good one.
