What makes us happy?
I’m exploring happiness right now – it’s a new year-long experiment. I’m curious about how we can allow ourselves to be happier, more often.
I’m more than curious, I’m invested, in how I can allow myself to be happier, more often.
Every weekend I’m sharing a short post on I Am Happiest When post in this new category, Happy.
From the ordinary to the unusual, I’m going to connect with the times, things, people and experiences that make me happiest.
This is part of my personal experiment with happiness, and I hope it inspires you to have your own experiments with what makes you happy.
I am happiest when (#2):
I am in touch with people who make me feel I can be me
I believe it’s a universal human need to feel we are understood, or in modern parlance, that we are “gotten”. I’m no different – I love to spend time with people who understand me as I am, in all my wonderful and flawed ways. People who think I’m funny and make me feel funny just being around them. Who I can say serious things to without being told I’m being too heavy. People who “get me”.
